Progress Pride Flag
The Progress Pride Flag represents a commitment to inclusivity and progress within the LGBTQ+ community. It acknowledges the diverse spectrum of sexual orientations and gender identities, emphasizing the importance of intersectionality. This flag not only celebrates the traditional LGBTQ+ identities but also highlights the experiences of marginalized groups within the community, such as transgender individuals and people of color. It serves as a reminder of the ongoing struggle for equality and the need to uplift all voices, recognizing that each person’s journey and identity are unique and valid.
The design of the Progress Pride Flag incorporates additional colors and shapes to the traditional rainbow flag, each with specific meanings. The original six rainbow stripes remain, symbolizing life, healing, sunlight, nature, harmony, and spirit. A chevron of black and brown stripes is added to represent marginalized LGBTQ+ communities of color, while the light blue, pink, and white stripes reflect the transgender community. The chevron’s forward-pointing shape signifies progress, urging the community to continue moving towards a more inclusive and equitable future for all.
