In 2009, Mid-South Pride moved the Festival and Parade to fall in order to avoid the excessive heat and allow more community members to participate in the celebrations safely. After a decade, we found there was only a 4 degree average temperature difference between our celebrations in late September, and those that were held in early June.

The safety of our community, and the ability for everyone to participate is always paramount. So after considering this minor difference in temperature, along with feedback from the community, we’ve made the bold decision to move Memphis Pride Fest to the first weekend in June when average temperatures and humidity are still within a safe range.
