Party with a Purpose
This is a joyful, sometimes rowdy, but never intimidating event that brings together Mid-Southerners of all stripes — one that’s not to be missed. Local celebrities, faith organizations, and city leaders are known to join the procession. It’s a bit like Carnival: colorful and willfully over-the-top, full of music, dancing, creative performances and floats. All are welcome — come as you are, and be prepared to live it up!
Three Days of Pride
Memphis Pride Fest has steadily grown in popularity over the years to become one of the city’s most-anticipated annual festivals, drawing thousands of people from across the Mid-South to downtown Memphis for a colorful street party celebrating diversity.
More than just a Carnival-like festival, it’s also served as an important platform for supporting full civil rights for LGBT people, in the Mid-South and around the world.
While the annual Pride Parade and associated events are an opportunity for LGBTQ+ organizations to draw attention to key issues affecting gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people, it isn’t a purely solemn affair: it’s a grand occasion filled with fun and excitement for everyone.
More than a Celebration
More than just a galactic celebration with glitter and rainbows, Memphis Pride Fest also serves as an important platform for supporting full civil rights for LGBT people, in the Mid-South and around the world.
