September 29 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
The Memphis Pride Parade has become one of the city’s most-anticipated annual celebrations drawing thousands of people from across the Mid-South to downtown Memphis for a colorful street party celebrating unity through diversity.
While the annual Pride Parade and associated events are an opportunity for LGBTQ+ organizations to draw attention to key issues affecting gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people, it isn’t a purely solemn affair: it’s a grand occasion filled with fun and excitement.
This is a joyful, sometimes rowdy, but never intimidating event that brings together Mid-Southerners of all stripes — one that’s not to be missed. Local politicians and celebrities are known to join the procession, and it’s a bit like Carnival: colorful and willfully over-the-top, full of music, dancing, creative performances, floats, and barrage of drag queens, kings, and everything in between!. All are welcome — come as you are, and be prepared to live it up!
Everyone is welcome to participate, and trophies are awarded for a list of titles including best use of theme, best walking group, and best in show. Individuals, businesses, and organizations interested in joining the party, can register your parade entry here on our website.
Mid-South Pride Parade participants are awarded prizes by a panel of judges selected by the parade committee and logistics team. All entries are eligible to be awarded in several categories including best use of theme, best walking group, and best in show.
