The 2021 Memphis Pride, themed “Live and in Color 2.0,” continued the previous year’s approach by blending virtual and in-person events. Similar to the 2020 celebration, it kicked off with the “Drag N Drive” at the Summer Drive-In, featuring “Hairspray” and a drag show. The virtual festival spanned three days, offering diverse programs including discussions, entertainment, and community interactions.
Echoing 2020’s format, the traditional parade was adapted to the “Pride on Wheels Caravan Parade,” emphasizing community inclusivity with over 100 participating units. This mix of virtual and limited in-person events ensured the fest’s accessibility and safety, aligning with the ongoing pandemic considerations.
