Queen of Beale St. Barbara Blue

Barbara Blue The Reigning Queen Of Beale Street

Singer/songwriter/producer Barbara Blue personifies the female blues vocalist. Referred to as “The Reigning Queen of Beale Street” by the Memphis Music Elite, Ms. Blue respectfully takes her rightful place in the musical mecca of Memphis, TN. This native of Pittsburgh PA is honored and humbled by her position as the one/only female vocalist to ever perform on Beale Street five nights a week, for eighteen years straight. When not traveling the USA or the world for festivals, fundraisers, great clubs, restaurants and private gigs – Ms. Blue makes her home base at Silky O’Sullivan’s on historic Beale Street . She wears her crown proudly and vows to do her best to keep not only the Blues but also Memphis Music alive. Performing gritty urban blues and saucy Memphis soul, her voice and presentation have been compared to the late great : Etta James, KoKo Taylor and Janis Joplin. Currently, she has released ten highly acclaimed Independent albums on her own recording label “BIG Blue Records” – backed by many word class musicians.
